Subtlety Rogue DPS Stat Priority — 12.0.5
On this page, you will find out the optimal stat priority for your Subtlety Rogue. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations on how the stats interact with your specialization and gameplay. Our content is updated for World of Warcraft Patch 12.0.5.
Subtlety Rogue Stat Priority
We do not recommend fretting over stat priorities, as simming your gear is a far more objective and accurate way of determining the best gear for your character.
Trickster wants ~700 Haste.
Deathstalker wants ~1100 Haste.
Trickster has access to
Disorienting Strikes which reduces the cooldown of
Secret Technique by 10%, because of that it requires less Haste to be able to fit 2 of
them into
Shadow Blades. This allows trickster to stop prioritizing Haste at the ~700
breakpoint for 2 additional globals in
Shadow Dance while
Deathstalker wants
to go for the 3rd additional global at ~1100 Haste as it needs a bit more Haste to have
Secret Technique line up well due to missing the 10% cooldown reduction.

In-Depth Stat Breakdown
Agility is your primary statistic. You should look for it in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Attack Power, which determines the damage your abilities do.
Mastery increases the damage of your combo point finishers through
Mastery: Executioner.
Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities. Crits deal double damage by default, but several effects can increase your crit damage, and make crits even stronger.
Versatility simply increases damage done and damage reduces taken.
Haste increases your Energy regeneration, attack speed, the duration of
Shadow Dance through
Deepening Shadows and reducing the cooldown of
Secret Technique.
Increased attack speed generates extra Combo Points via
Shadow Techniques.
Diminishing Returns on Stats
Every stat has a limit where they will begin to offer less increase per point gained, which are known as the points of diminishing return. Once you have reached these amounts, stats will become progressively less valuable and may fall behind other options. The current breakpoints are:
| Stat | 10% DR Rating | 20% DR Rating | 30% DR Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mastery | 1380 | 1840 | 2300 |
| Critical Strike | 1380 | 1840 | 2300 |
| Haste | 1320 | 1760 | 2200 |
| Versatility | 1620 | 2160 | 2700 |
