Devastation Evoker Leveling Guide from 10 to 90 — 12.0.5

Due to the high burst AoE damage Evokers are capable of, leveling from questing and bursting mobs is a very quick and efficient way to get through the zones. Additionally, having short cooldown defensives that enable you to recover health, such as Renewing Blaze, means mass pulling is less riskier than some other specs.

Tag as many mobs as you need to with Azure Strike. Once they are grouped, cast a high rank Fire Breath and then spam Pyre. Pyre being an uncapped AoE means that no matter how many targets you pull, they will all melt down together.

Basic LevelingMidnight Leveling

In most cases while leveling, you want to prioritize the gear with the highest item level. However, make an exception if you have a ring or neck with only one secondary stat instead of two. In these rare cases, selecting the item with the lower item level is acceptable.

When choosing Heirloom items, we recommend using those with Critical Strike and Haste, as they will slightly improve your gameplay flow while leveling.

Heirlooms Guide

Consumables can make a big difference when leveling. Be sure to pick these up to make your journey as smooth as possible.

• Flask of Alchemical Chaos: Your best damage-increasing flask.
• Tempered Potion: This synergises with your flask to give a massive damage boost.

Here, you will find information on the best PvP talents for leveling and doing solo or small group PvE content.

1. Obsidian Mettle will allow you to safely cast spells while enemies are trying to knock you back. It can also be useful for picking up Windswept Herbalism nodes.
2. Unburdened Flight can be useful when you are running away from a pack of enemies. It can also help you avoid slowing down by Daze.
3. The third PvP talent is largely your personal choice. I would recommend Swoop Up, as it is useful for open world mobility, such as when you are in combat and cannot Dragon ride.

Devastation Evoker PvP talents do not provide much of a gain overall, but can slightly speed up your leveling process by making combat less troublesome.

To keep things simple while leveling and learning the spec, use the slider to select your level, and watch as the leveling rotation grows with each level!

Your basic rotation whilst leveling will be as follows:

Use Fire Breath (at level 1) and Eternity Surge at the level relevant to the target count (level 1 for 1-2 targets, level 2 for 3-4 targets, level 3 for 5+ targets).

Use Fire Breath (at level 1) and Eternity Surge at the level relevant to the target count (level 1 for 1-2 targets, level 2 for 3-4 targets, level 3 for 5-6 targets, level 4 for 7+ targets).

Use Deep Breath if fighting more than 1 target.

Use Disintegrate as your Essence spender, unless If you are fighting more than 4 targets, then use Pyre.

If you do not have enough Essence to cast Disintegrate or Pyre, then use Living Flame (for 1-2 targets) or Azure Strike (for 3+ targets).
