On this page, we list the best gems, enchants, flasks, potions, and food you can get for your Subtlety Rogue, based on your stat priority. We also give budget alternatives. This page is updated for World of Warcraft Patch 12.0.5.

1.

You should use Indecipherable Eversong Diamond Icon Indecipherable Eversong Diamond in one socket. Then, the rest of the sockets can be filled in based on what your character needs the most. Generally you would use the Haste and Mastery/Critical Strike ones (Flawless Deadly Peridot Icon Flawless Deadly Peridot or Flawless Masterful Peridot Icon Flawless Masterful Peridot) until you reach the Haste breakpoint. Afterwards, fill the remaining slots with Flawless Masterful Garnet Icon Flawless Masterful Garnet or Flawless Deadly Amethyst Icon Flawless Deadly Amethyst.

However, the choice of gems is highly dependent on the specific gear you're wearing. Each of the four secondary stats can easily be your highest-performing stat depending on the stats provided by your equipped items, and as a result the choice of gems and ring enchants can vary a lot. We highly recommend simming yourself to find out the best set of gems for your specific character and setup.

Whether you choose to enchant your gear with Avoidance, Leech, or Speed is up to you. Leech will allow you to gain some additional passive healing while you do damage, Avoidance reduces the damage taken by Area-of-Effect spells, similar to Feint Icon Feint, and Speed simply increases your movement speed. For Raid progression movement speed is often underrated and can be a minor DPS increase if it allows you to reach your target faster.

Icy Veins - Before applying gems and enchants to your equipment, make sure to check whether
there might be an easy-to-get item that is better than the one you're currently wearing!

Optimal Consumables

In addition to enchants and improvements to your gear, making sure you come prepared with the right consumables to endgame content has a big impact on your performance.

3.1.

Flask

If you have yet to reach the Haste breakpoint you should be using Flask of the Blood Knights Icon Flask of the Blood Knights, otherwise use Flask of the Magisters Icon Flask of the Magisters.

3.2.

Potions

The best stat potion is Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential. At first glance Draught of Rampant Abandon Icon Draught of Rampant Abandon might look like it is better but the downside from it makes it near impossible to use as a melee, especially in boss encounters or M+ scenarios.

Make sure to also carry at least a few Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Silvermoon Health Potions to heal yourself in dire situations.

3.3.

Food Buff

The recommended food is Harandar Celebration Icon Harandar Celebration or Royal Roast Icon Royal Roast.

3.4.

Augment Rune

The best augment rune is Void-Touched Augment Rune Icon Void-Touched Augment Rune.
