Windwalker Monk Leveling Guide from 1 to 90 — 12.0.5

Windwalker is often considered to be one of the best specs to level with in World of Warcraft. The mixture of nearly unparalleled mobility, ample control abilities, and an (often) instant-kill spell in Touch of Death makes Windwalker very easy to level.

Windwalkers are able to group up many targets, stun them with Leg Sweep, and then AoE them down. Alternatively you can simply simply focus on a single target and use a spell like Touch of Karma to redirect damage back to that target. Many people find that Windwalker leveling is a flexible and easy process compared to some other specs.

Basic LevelingMidnight Leveling

When leveling up, always choose the piece of loot with the highest item level. The only exception to this rule is if you have a Ring or Necklace with a slightly lower item level but two secondary stats on it instead of one.

When using Heirloom items, we recommend using those with Critical Strike and Haste, as they will slightly improve the gameplay flow while leveling.

Heirlooms Guide

When Leveling up from 80-90 in the Midnight Expansion in particular, there are a lot of consumables that can help ease the process, aside from the "regular" PvE consumables mentioned further below.

• Gunshoes — Massive movement speed boost that works when Mounts do not, and much faster than ground mounts.
• Goblin Glider Kit — Lets you glide off of ledges and cover vast distances quickly.
• Light-Step Hoofplates — Do not forget this Mount Equipment to make your mounts faster on the ground.
• Fried Bonefish — An incredible amount of movement speed from a Food.

In this section, we will rank the PvP talents best for leveling and doing solo / small group PvE content. Below is a ranking of Windwalker Monk-specific PvE talents.

1. Alpha Tiger is very useful for a small added burst as you go between targets.
2. Reverse Harm is very useful for survivability and for added damage.
3. Turbo Fists is an incredibly strong PvP talent that makes pulling large groups significantly easier.

The Windwalker Monk rotation is based on a priority system. Use the highest ability on the list as soon as it is available. This list assumes you have access to many talents, so simply remove the ones you don't have. It is also set up for AoE pulls, as Windwalker is very capable of doing so.
