Glory of the Midnight Raider - Midnight Season 1 Raid Meta Achievement
With the staggered release of its three Season 1 raids, Midnight's first season raid meta achievement will involve tasks across all three raids. Read on to learn more about each included achievement!
Introduction
As with every new competitive season, Midnight Season 1 introduces a vast array
of new achievements, including the new raid meta achievement
Glory of the Midnight Raider.
Thanks to the staggered release schedule of the Midnight Season 1 raids, and the fact that this Glory meta requires achievements from each raid, Glory of the Midnight Raider will work slightly differently than those we have seen before.
Read on to learn about the raid release schedule, Glory of the Midnight Raider rewards, and each achievement required to satisfy the meta.
Raid Unlock Schedule
Here is a truncated raid unlock schedule, listing all relevant difficulties for achievement-hunting.
- Week of March 17: Normal, Heroic Voidspire and Dreamrift become available.
- Week of March 24: Mythic Voidspire and Dreamrift become available.
- Week of March 31: Normal, Heroic, and Mythic March on Quel'Danas becomes available.
As Glory of the Midnight Raider requires achievements from all three Season 1 raids to satisfy the meta, it is only possible to earn the full meta the week of March 31 at the very earliest.
Full Raid Guides
While Glory of the Midnight Raider can be completed on Normal difficulty, we would still recommend familiarizing yourself with the fights before attempting it! Often, these meta achievements require raiders to navigate the regular boss mechanics while also interacting with extra mobs or NPCs, moving to new locations, or even playing through additional mechanics altogether.

Glory of the Midnight Raider Rewards
Of course, completing all of the achievements discussed in the below sections will
reward you with the
Glory of the Midnight Raider achievement. However, the most
coveted reward for each raid meta is, of course, the mount.
Midnight Season 1's raid meta rewards players with a vicious new Midnight model,
the
Tenebrous Harrower.
The Voidspire
The Voidspire is the largest raid in Midnight Season 1, with six bosses total. Thus, it contains the bulk of the achievements for Glory of the Midnight Raider.
Nothing to See Here
Nothing to See Here: Get consumed by the Devouring Host in the Voidspire
or March on Quel'Danas.
Strategy: This is an easy personal achievement! Fall off a cliff, or otherwise move out of bounds, anywhere in the Voidspire. The cliff edge where Vorasius stands is a great option.
The Only Winning Move Is Not To Play
The Only Winning Move Is Not To Play: Defeat Imperator Averzian after
causing him to destroy your banners in the Voidspire on Normal difficulty or higher.
Strategy: For this achievement, have 3 players pick up the banners located throughout the battlefield before the boss arena. You will need to place these in a row, in clear spots, anywhere on the battlefield; Imperator Averzian will destroy them himself when you place the third banner. Remember not to let the boss place 3 Abyssal Voidshapers in a row first, or he will wipe the raid!
Note: You can only drop ONE banner per tic-tac-toe phase, so be sure you are throttling your DPS enough that he does not die before you place all three!
Hungry Hungry Hatchlings
Hungry Hungry Hatchlings: Defeat Vorasius after every player
feeds a hatchling enough to put it to sleep in the Voidspire on Normal difficulty
or higher.
Strategy: AFTER engaging Vorasius, a Surprisingly Large Egg will spawn on the RIGHT side of the room. Each member of the raid needs to click a Hungry Hatchling peeking out of the egg. During Phase 2, the wall phase, the raid will be killing Blistercreep parasites; upon death these parasites leave chunks of meat behind. Your Hatchlings will consume these corpses and happily fall asleep. Once everyone's Hatchling has eaten its fill, identified by a stacking buff, they will fall asleep. Sleeping Hatchlings will lie down with a little heart indicator over their heads, signifying that you can now kill the boss as usual. DYING will cause you to lose your Hatchling, in which case everyone will need to jump off and start again!
Note: It can be difficult to discern which Hatchling belongs to you, but yours will have a small spotlight beam over its head. You may want to set your Hatchling as your Focus Target in order to better keep track of its location in the arena and its hunger stacks.
It's Treason Then
It's Treason Then: Defeat Fallen-King Salhadaar after everyone /kneels
to him before the battle starts in the Voidspire on Normal difficulty or higher.
Strategy: On its face, this sounds like a simple achievement to accomplish: have everyone line up and /kneel to Salhadaar one by one before you start the pull timer. In practice though, after kneeling to Salhadaar, everyone in the raid will gain a nasty debuff. I hope you remember your old Nemesis, Nexus Princess Ky'veza, because you will once again be contending with a similar mechanic! You will periodically spawn a shade of yourself, and you MUST face it or you will die.
Handle your shade, navigate the other fight mechanics, and finish the fight for your achievement.
Note: Each member of the raid spawns a shade roughly every TEN SECONDS throughout the fight. The shades spawn in a visual pulse of void energy, take your current form (whatever that may be, Brann Bronzebeard included!), and appear with a void beam over their heads. You will only see your own shade.
Ready, Set, Snap!
Ready, Set, Snap!: Defeat Vaelgor and Ezzorak after all players
break each
Nullzone's tethers within 3 seconds in the Voidspire on Normal
difficulty or higher.
Strategy: Managing this achievement will require a good deal
more coordination than some of the others on the list. Each
Nullsnap deals
raid damage, so the group will need to run some major healing cooldowns to ensure
everyone stays healthy while the whole team snaps their tethers together. Additionally,
ensure the group is fairly close together, and plan to make use of group speed boosts
like
Stampeding Roar and
Wind Rush Totem to have everyone break at
the same time.
This fight is a major step-up from the previous four, even on Normal difficulty, and several other mechanics can overlap with the Nullzones. Be aware of this major jump in difficulty as you start planning your meta run! This achievement will only get easier with higher Item Level, which will enable you to push the fight faster and guarantee fewer Nullzones overall.
Aura Farming
Aura Farming: Defeat the Lightblinded Vanguard while your entire raid
has
Maximum Aura in the Voidspire on Normal difficulty or higher.
Strategy: Before the boss arena, on a little hill to the right of the stairs,
you'll find a small libram on the ground called the Tome of Divinity. Your
whole raid will need to click this book and gain the
Aura Farming debuff.
Engage the Lightblinded Vanguard as normal, but be sure you all stand in each boss' Aura
for a short time as they reach 100 energy. Every member of the raid team must have
Maximum Aura before you can kill the boss.
Be aware that Maximum Aura WILL stun other nearby raid members with less aura. Players who have already capped their aura should stand aside and be sure their friends can move through to finish their own aura farming!
Like the pair of dragons before them, the Lightblinded Vanguard DO hurt quite a lot, even on Normal. You will need to play the fight carefully, especially when standing in their Auras. Bringing an extra healer may not be a terrible plan for this achievement!
Note: Dying will drop your Aura Farming debuff entirely, in which case the entire raid will need to jump off the side and start the fight again!
We Will, In Fact, See It Again
We Will, In Fact, See It Again: Defeat Crown of the Cosmos after slaying
a Fleshy Monstrosity and returning all of its meat to The Emptiness in the
Voidspire on Normal difficulty or higher.
: Interestingly enough, the Scalecommander Sarkareth achievement
for the
Glory of the Aberrus Raider was
Well Never See That Again, Surely,
and required players to generate a Lump of Flesh from the void pool before the boss
and throw the Flesh into The Emptiness Between Stars during a downstairs phase of
the fight. This achievement is a fun nod to Sarkareth.
To prepare for this achievement, everyone will need to stand in the small void
puddle that appears right behind Umbric's portal up to the Crown of the Cosmos fight.
You will see a stacking
Clinging Void debuff; at 10 stacks, you grow a
Lump of Flesh, which lasts for 10 minutes.
Engage the fight as normal. After killing the Undying Sentinel mobs, Morium,
Demiar, and Vorelus, Alleria transitions into her intermission
phase. Do NOT get dragged into the center of the room, but DO get close enough to
hit your extra action button. Doing so will tear off your Lump of Flesh and throw
it into the center. When the whole raid team has thrown their Lumps of Flesh into the
Void, the Fleshy Monstrosity will spawn. Focus this mob down, being sure to interrupt
its
Blood Howl.
Once the Monstrosity dies, you will gain a second debuff,
Flesh Burst.
You will drop this debuff into the void near Alleria during her second intermission
phase. After this, you are free to proceed through the remainder of the fight.
Note: Dying before you have had the opportunity to toss your BOTH debuffs into the void means you have lost your Lump of Flesh permanently, and the team will need to start the fight again. Do NOT get sucked into the middle during intermissions! You only need to be close enough that your extra action button works to toss your Lump of Flesh and Fleshy Nodule into the void.
The Dreamrift
The Dreamrift is a single boss raid, offering only Chimaerus to contend with.
Falling Between The Quacks
Falling Between The Quacks: Defeat Chimaerus after plucking all
Corrupted Feathers
from Sergeant Quackers and rescuing him from the Aln in the Dreamrift on
Normal difficulty or higher.
Strategy: If you are a big achievement hunter, Sergeant Quackers
may be a familiar face for you: we recruit him to join our cause for
Ducks In A Row
and
Glory of the Dream Raider, receiving him as a pet.
To begin this achievement, you will need to find Sergeant Quackers on the left side of the first platform, before you reach the boss. Talk to him to bring him with you into the Chimaerus fight. ENSURE you mark Sergeant Quackers with a raid marker so you can keep track of him throughout the boss fight, as he does run around in a panic!
When the fight begins, and the first
Alndust Upheaval goes out on the
tank, Sergeant Quackers will also go downstairs, where he will remain UNTIL your
raid has plucked all his Corrupted Feathers. When you have cleansed Sergeant Quackers,
he will emerge from the Aln and attack the boss, and you can finish the fight
normally.
BE AWARE that you will need to fly back and collect Sergeant Quackers from the first platform again if you wipe on Chimaerus.
March on Quel'Danas
March on Quel'Danas, the final raid in the Season 1 trio, is a two-boss raid.
Nothing to See Here
Nothing to See Here: Get consumed by the Devouring Host in the Voidspire
or March on Quel'Danas.
Suspected Strategy: You will likely have gotten this from the Voidspire already, but if not, it seems you will have another opportunity in March on Quel'Danas.
Eggsistential Crisis
Eggsistential Crisis: Defeat Belo'ren, Child of Al'ar after infusing
the Sunwell Egg with Light and Void magic in March on Quel'Danas on Normal difficulty
or higher.
Strategy: Tanks should be your egg carriers for this achievement, as they are taking reliable Light and Void damage throughout the fight. Have a tank pick up the Sunwell Egg, which is located to the LEFT of the boss arena, sitting in the grass on the small terrace up the stairs. Each tank will need to power up the egg with their respective color; the charges are indicated by a filling progress bar over the Sunwell Egg. If the tracked achievement does not naturally turn white (for "complete") during Phase 1, when your tanks are handling Belo'ren's frontal cones, they can also hold the egg during the boss' intermissions to finish charging it.
NOTE: While there are reports that this achievement can be buggy and frustrating, the best option is to have a player stand in residual puddles after each soak. Stop DPS and prolong Phase 1 as long as needed to fully fill both bars. Dropping the egg early will reset progress.
All The Things She Said
All the Things She Said: Defeat Midnight Falls after returning 12 Memory of Alleria
back to L'ura in March on Quel'Danas on Normal difficulty or higher.
Strategy: Locate the interactable Void Torch in the boss' room, in an alcove to the right. Turn on the torch before beginning the fight.
In Phase 3, the group will have to locate twelve Memory of Alleria around the room as L'ura periodically fills each portion with void. Each segment spawns THREE Memories of Alleria. Each one must be interrupted before they finish their casts. This will need to be done quickly enough that you do not hit the enrage by running out of Dawn Crystals.
