Devastation Evoker Stat Priority

The general stat priority for Devastation Evoker is:

Item Level
Haste
Crit. Strike
Mastery
Versatility
FAQIs There a Haste Cap for Devastation Evoker?
There is no hard cap on Haste for us, but Haste directly ties into how long our Dragonrage Icon Dragonrage will last as each time you cast Fire Breath Icon Fire Breath or Eternity Surge Icon Eternity Surge the duration will extend. There are no hard breakpoints to guarantee an extra extension, but more Haste will give you more leniency on making errors.

Item Level will typically be better than having optimal secondary stats, except for Jewelry and Trinkets.

Something to note is that secondary stats diminish in value per point after 30%, meaning it takes more secondary stat points to gain 1%. This is not a goal to aim for, but just something to be mindful of when you start to go beyond these thresholds. At these points you will see less value per point of secondary stats. As always, simming your character will give more detailed information on where it is advisable to change your gear for different secondary stats.

In-Depth Stat Breakdown

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.

Mastery (Mastery: Giantkiller Icon Mastery: Giantkiller) increases the damage of your spells based on the current health of your target. The higher the health of the target, the more benefit from Mastery: Giantkiller Icon Mastery: Giantkiller you get. You will automatically get the full benefit from Mastery: Giantkiller Icon Mastery: Giantkiller during Dragonrage Icon Dragonrage when the Tyranny Icon Tyranny talent is picked.

Critical Strike increases your chance for your abilities to deal 200% damage this is increased to 220% when the Spellweaver's Dominance Icon Spellweaver's Dominance talent is picked.

Haste increases your spell casting speed (including Empowered Spells) and the tick rate of your periodic effects.

Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.

Diminishing Returns on Stats

Every stat has a limit where they will begin to offer less increase per point gained, which are known as the points of diminishing return. Once you have reached these amounts, stats will become progressively less valuable and may fall behind other options. The current breakpoints are:

Stat 10% DR Rating 20% DR Rating 30% DR Rating
Mastery 1380 1840 2300
Critical Strike 1380 1840 2300
Haste 1320 1760 2200
Versatility 1620 2160 2700
