Devastation Evoker DPS Mythic+ Tips — 12.0.5

This tree will serve as the best build for all keys, as it sacrifices next to no ST DPS for a very substantial cleave and AoE gain in the form of Eternity's Span. If you want to push for a high AoE damage build you can take both points out of Honed Aggression to put both into Volatility or 1 into Charged Blast, Charged Blast is very slightly better than Volatility but requires you to actively play around it in order to maximize its value.

This tree can be used for Flameshaper weekly keys. It can be played at a somewhat similar level to Scalecommander, but is weaker overall due to much less flexibility in where you can spend your talent points. If you want to focus on single-target, it is going to cost a fairly substantial amount of AoE, and vice versa. We would therefore only recommend playing this if you really enjoy the Flameshaper playstyle.

Quell is your "kick" and your most important bit of utility in Mythic+. Use to stop enemy casts for the benefit of the group, especially the tank. It is highly recommended to use a Focus Kick macro for this.

This macro will:

• Kick your focus target, if you have one
• Kick the Mouseover target, if you have no Focus target
• If you have neither of those, Kick the target based on Blizzard's default targeting

To quickly set a focus target in hectic scenarios, we also recommend a Focus Mouseover macro.

Make sure that your UI shows your Focus Target's casts clearly. This way, you are always able to kick on cooldown or in coordination with the rest of your group.

Devastation has three main AoE stop abilities.

Deep Breath is a 3-second stun on a very short cooldown when talented into Terror of the Skies. We do not hold this to use as a stop, as it is part of our core dps rotation. However, it provides a lot of free crowd control.

Wing Buffet will knock enemies in front of you back, interrupting spells and repositioning mobs.

Tail Swipe will knock enemies around you up into the air and slightly away from you. This is useful for interrupting groups of casts.

Rescue can help reposition yourself — as well as an ally — while also providing a short duration cast while moving buff to you and your Rescue target when talented into Twin Guardian.

Time Spiral allows your entire party an additional use of their movement-based abilities, ours being Hover this can be very helpful when needing to move through areas quickly.
