Augmentation Evoker DPS Stat Priority — 12.0.5
On this page, you will find out the optimal stat priority for your Augmentation Evoker. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations on how the stats interact with your specialization and gameplay. Our content is updated for World of Warcraft Patch 12.0.5.
Augmentation Evoker Stat Priority
Currently both
Chronowarden and
Scalecommander have
similar stat priorities, with both wanting Critical Strike and Haste over
any other stat. Both
Scalecommander and
Chronowarden
currently value Critical Strike Chance over Haste but
Chronowarden prefers Critical Strike far more due to
Double-time, while
Scalecommander favours Haste and
Critical Strike more equally. It is important to note that these stats are
still incredibly close in value but quite far ahead of both Mastery and
Versatility.
Be mindful that Mastery is higher in the priority list in builds
using
Motes of Possibility.
Item level is by far the most important aspect of gearing for
non jewelry slots. On jewelry it can be worth dropping a small amount
of item level for better stats, as Augmentation does not scale very well
with secondary stats. Without playing a
Motes of Possibility build
Mastery is quite far behind, approximately equal to Versatility.
Augmentation's secondary stat priority depends on talents but it tries to
avoid getting Mastery and Versatility on items unless it is unavoidable. If
you are playing the
Motes of Possibility talent then Augmentation's
Mastery slightly increases in value and will outperform Versatility.
However, Mastery will still perform worse than both Critical Strike Chance
and Haste for both
Scalecommander and
Chronowarden.
As a
Chronowarden with
Double-time, you gain the ability
to critically strike with
Ebon Might and
Prescience,
increasing the power of those buffs by 50% on Critical Strike. Due to this,
Critical Strike Chance is far more valuable than any other stat and makes
investing into Critical Strike Chance your highest priority. It can be
worth equipping items with higher Critical Strike Chance even if they have
worse stats like Mastery or Versatility. After Critical Strike Chance,
Haste is always the second best stat, followed by Mastery then Versatility.

In-Depth Stat Breakdown
Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.
Mastery (
Mastery: Timewalker) causes empower spells you cast to
give a DPS
Shifting Sands which grants Versatility to another ally
for 10 seconds. Additionally, it increases the duration of Shifting Sands,
Breath of Eons, Ebon Might, and other helpful Auras.
Critical Strike increases your chance for your abilities to deal
200% damage.
Sands of Time means your
Ebon Might extension
effects can Critically Strike, increasing the amount of extension granted
by 50%.
Haste increases your spell casting speed (including Empowered Spells) and the tick rate of your periodic effects.
Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.
Diminishing Returns on Stats
Every stat has a limit where they will begin to offer less increase per point gained, which are known as the points of diminishing return. Once you have reached these amounts, stats will become progressively less valuable and may fall behind other options. The current breakpoints are:
| Stat | 10% DR Rating | 20% DR Rating | 30% DR Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mastery | 1380 | 1840 | 2300 |
| Critical Strike | 1380 | 1840 | 2300 |
| Haste | 1320 | 1760 | 2200 |
| Versatility | 1620 | 2160 | 2700 |
