FAQWhich Tier Set Pieces Do I Want?
For Midnight Season 1 as an Augmentation Evoker, you will want to try and prioritise getting the Shoulder, Chest, Legs and Gloves set pieces. The Helm Tier Set is fine but there are better off piece Helm slot items available this tier. As a result, we favour using the Gloves long term.

  • Algeth'ar Academy: This has one of Augmentation Evokers best Off Hands, your Best-in-Slot boots, as well as a decent starter trinket (Emerald Coach's Whistle Icon Emerald Coach's Whistle). Make sure you are in Preservation or Augmentation loot spec if you want to receive this trinket.
  • Windrunner Spire: This has the best trinket obtainable from Dungeons.
  • Nexus-Point Xenas: This dungeon has the best Ring for Augmentation Evoker and the set is a competitive early option due to the proc, despite being poorly statted on one of rings!

Trinket Recommendations for Augmentation Evoker

Augmentation Evoker currently prefers to wear passive trinkets, as the cooldown of Breath of Eons Icon Breath of Eons often does not line up with trinkets due to Cooldown Reduction effects. If you are using an on-use trinket, you can use them on Cooldown.

There are a lot of powerful trinkets available to Augmentation Evoker this season with three notable standouts: Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem Icon Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem, Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare, and Soulcatcher's Charm Icon Soulcatcher's Charm. The best performing pairing is Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem Icon Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem and Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare. But you can replace the Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare with a Soulcatcher's Charm Icon Soulcatcher's Charm if you would rather not play with an on-use trinket.

With so many valuable trinkets to choose from, we suggest taking a look at our trinket ranking chart below to get a better understanding of which trinkets are good.

Click for Augmentation Evoker Trinket Rankings

All trinkets are assumed to be Mythic item level unless a lower item level is specified for the sake of comparison. The idea is to compare trinkets at their maximum obtainable item level to give you an idea of where things are placed. We do not suggest using two on use trinkets even if the trinkets are ranked higher than passive trinkets on this list. For more accurate information on how trinkets perform relative to each other for your own character, please sim your character.

A "Tier" as defined by this list is around 0.5% DPS, meaning that S-Tier Trinkets are around 0.5% better than A-Tier Trinkets, and so on.

Ranking Raiding Mythic+
S Tier
  • Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem Icon Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem - Click for Details This trinket is a highly tuned damage proc trinket that grants a notable haste buff when it triggers against enemies below 35% Health. This trinket will hit an additional target if there is a second one present. This considerably increases the power of the trinket and the chance that you receive a haste buff in fights with multiple enemies.
  • Soulcatcher's Charm Icon Soulcatcher's Charm - Click for Details This trinket is a highly tuned single-target specialised Damage Proc trinket and is generally excellent.
  • Gaze of the Alnseer Icon Gaze of the Alnseer - Click for Details This trinket performs well in Mythic+ as it gets better uptime on primary stat during AoE and the damage trinket alternatives are relatively weaker.
  • Litany of Lightblind Wrath Icon Litany of Lightblind Wrath - Click for Details This is a healer-only trinket requiring you to spec Preservation loot spec to get it. This trinket deals a decent of single target damage per use and grants a large shield to the group. This trinket is competitive for DPS on Single Target but the AOE is lacking. This trinket has been given a higher ranking as the shielding is extremely valuable as a defensive in high Mythic+.
This is weaker in Mythic+ than it is in raid as the damage dealt is relatively weaker on AoE despite hitting 2 targets consistently as most of the time you will be fighting 8+ enemies.
A Tier
  • Litany of Lightblind Wrath Icon Litany of Lightblind Wrath - Click for Details This is a healer-only trinket requiring you to spec Preservation loot spec to get it. This trinket deals a decent of single target damage per use and provides a reasonable amount of incidental healing to the group. This is a good interim trinket before you get better options.
  • Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare - Click for Details This is the best available on use trinket for Augmentation this tier. This trinket is not universally the best trinket but is incredible on any encounters where you need a high amount of burst like Belo'ren.
  • Locus-Walker's Ribbon Icon Locus-Walker's Ribbon - Click for Details This trinket performs worse for Augmentation Evoker due to having Mastery Stat, which is relatively weak for Augmentation Evoker in Midnight Season 1. This gets better on longer encounter fights due to gaining a permanent increase in power the longer you are in combat for.
  • Gaze of the Alnseer Icon Gaze of the Alnseer - Click for Details This trinket performs worse for Augmentation Evoker due to having Mastery Stat, which is relatively weak for Augmentation Evoker in Midnight Season 1.
  • Heart of Wind Icon Heart of Wind - Click for Details This is a passive haste trinket with high uptime. This is one of the best trinkets you can obtain solely from Mythic+.
  • Emberwing Feather Icon Emberwing Feather - Click for Details This is a 2 minute on use haste trinket that provides a decent burst of damage. Currently Augmentation Evoker does not have 2 minute cooldowns as it has a lot of internal CDR reducing each CD. Despite this, it is still one of the better trinkets you can obtain solely from Mythic+.
  • Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare - Click for Details This is the best available on use trinket for Augmentation this tier. In Mythic+ this is considerably stronger than in raids, as it is easier to line up the large Mastery buff with your allies' cooldowns. Furthermore, most DPS do strong AoE at all times increasing the floor of this trinket if you were to use it with your Empowers while no DPS cds are active.
  • Heart of Wind Icon Heart of Wind - Click for Details This is a passive haste trinket with high uptime. This is one of the best trinkets you can obtain solely from Mythic+. The haste is more valuable on AoE than it is on Single Target making this slightly better in Mythic+ than it is in raid.
  • Locus-Walker's Ribbon Icon Locus-Walker's Ribbon - Click for Details This trinket will unfortunately lose stacks when you leave combat decreasing the power in Mythic+. Despite that, it still is a reasonably competitive trinket as primary stat is always valuable.
B Tier
  • Wraps of Cosmic Madness Icon Wraps of Cosmic Madness
  • Void-Reaper's Libram Icon Void-Reaper's Libram (Hero)
  • Drum of Renewed Bonds Icon Drum of Renewed Bonds (Hero) - Click for Details This is a Delve Trinket that can have its stats changed to proc any of the four types. For Augmentation Evoker, we want this trinket to proc Crit. Use the trinket at the Akil'zon temple to get this stat. Note: Make sure to remove the trinket slot from any macros, as the on-use on this trinket will break your macros.
  • Eye of the Drowning Void Icon Eye of the Drowning Void
  • Reality Breacher Icon Reality Breacher
  • Reality Breacher Icon Reality Breacher
  • Drum of Renewed Bonds Icon Drum of Renewed Bonds (Hero) - Click for Details This is a Delve Trinket that can have its stats changed to proc any of the four types. For Augmentation Evoker, we want this trinket to proc Crit. Use the trinket at the Akil'zon temple to get this stat. Note: Make sure to remove the trinket slot from any macros, as the on-use on this trinket will break your macros.
  • Soulcatcher's Charm Icon Soulcatcher's Charm - Click for Details This trinket is a high damage single target proc trinket. The extra effect helps limit damage lost due to enemies dying but it is not significant enough to compensate for the lack of AoE scaling. This trinket is ranked lower due to its relatively inadequate AoE performance while only being equal for ST.
C Tier
  • Crucible of Erratic Energies Icon Crucible of Erratic Energies (Champion) - Click for Details This is an upgradeable trinket available from reaching Renown 7 with The Singularity. You need to upgrade this trinket by completing the weekly Stormarion Assault quests and upgrading the trinket at the Void Research Console. This trinket has been bumped down a tier as it is performing relatively worse due to the availability of Ascendant Voidcore Icon Ascendant Voidcores.
  • Emerald Coach's Whistle Icon Emerald Coach's Whistle - Click for Details This is a potent buffing Trinket with good uptime, but will not attribute any of the damage from the stat buff to you in logs. Most of the power in this trinket comes from granting the buff to another player.
  • Refueling Orb Icon Refueling Orb - Click for Details This is a healer-only trinket requiring you to spec Preservation loot spec to get it. This is a potent buffing Trinket with good uptime, but will not attribute any of the damage from the Versatility to you in logs. Currently this trinket has a bug causing it to target pets lowering its expected value from A tier to C tier.
  • Glorious Crusader's Keepsake Icon Glorious Crusader's Keepsake (Hero)
  • Sylvan Wakrapuku Icon Sylvan Wakrapuku (Hero)
  • Astalor's Anguish Agitator Icon Astalor's Anguish Agitator (Hero)
  • Darkmoon Deck: Hunt Icon Darkmoon Deck: Hunt - Click for Details This is a Craftable Darkmoon Deck trinket. This trinket is the best performing Darkmoon Deck but like all the other Darkmoon Decks costs you an embellishment slot. The loss of an Embellishment is equivalent to losing ~1% DPS dropping this trinket from A tier to C tier.

  • Darkmoon Deck: Void Icon Darkmoon Deck: Void - Click for Details This is a Craftable Darkmoon Deck trinket. This trinket costs you an embellishment slot. The loss of an Embellishment is equivalent to losing ~1% DPS dropping this trinket from B tier to D tier.
  • Vessel of Tortured Souls Icon Vessel of Tortured Souls - Click for Details This is a passive trinket that requires you to move to pick up the stat buff. This buff is exceptionally hard to see, almost invisible on most raid encounters. We expect you will miss the majority of the procs you receive on hectic raid encounters. We have lowered this by 3 tiers to account for this.
  • Eye of the Drowning Void Icon Eye of the Drowning Void
  • Wraps of Cosmic Madness Icon Wraps of Cosmic Madness
  • Vessel of Tortured Souls Icon Vessel of Tortured Souls - Click for Details This is a passive trinket that requires you to move to pick up the stat buff. Ascendant and Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Gear Rolls)

Midnight's patch 12.0.5 introduces two systems inspired by systems from previous expansions.

  • Nebulous Voidcore Icon Nebulous Voidcore which can be used in dungeons or after killing a specific raid boss, and lets you gain a guaranteed piece of loot from that dungeon or raid boss. The item you get is random, but you can not get a duplicate item so using it again in a specific place will give you another chance on the remaining items.
  • Ascendant Voidcore Icon Ascendant Voidcore are used to increase the item level of Weapons and Trinkets which are Hero or Myth track if you have scaled them up to the highest item level possible. Alternatively these items can also be used on Crafted items at max quality.

Voidforge and Voidcores
Check our our guide on the Voidforge to learn how to acquire this powerful upgrades!
3.1.

The best place to use the Nebulous Voidcore heavily depends on what items you have already obtained. We strongly suggest using these to obtain the highest item level items you possibly can. That means if you are able to use these on Mythic raidbosses or in Mythic+10 dungeons then we suggest using them there as the items are significantly better.

We have listed a general bonus roll priority below:

Voidcore (Bonus Roll) Priority
  1. Mythic Track Crit Haste Mainhand
  2. Mythic Track Crit Haste Offhand
  3. Mythic Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem Icon Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem for Raiding focused players.
  4. Mythic Vaelgor's Final Stare Icon Vaelgor's Final Stare
  5. Mythic Gaze of the Alnseer Icon Gaze of the Alnseer for M+ focused players.
  6. Remaining BiS List items
3.2.

Ascendant Voidcores

Ascendant Voidcore Icon Ascendant Voidcores are a new system that allows you to increase the item level of Hero or Myth track Weapons and Trinkets that are at their maximum possible upgrades. This does not work on any other slot but will work for crafted Weapons and Trinkets. This will increase your item by 9 ilvl. For crafted items you will instead gain 10 additional ilvl. This keeps crafted weapons relevant as they remain competitive until you obtain a BiS Crit Haste Main Hand and Off Hand combination.

The best item to upgrade first is similar to the best priority list when spending crests:

  1. Weapons
  2. Offhand
  3. Trinkets

We suggest prioritizing the usage of these on Myth Track items that will remain on your character for the entire tier as the drop rate of these is currently unknown. If you have spare then you can upgrade the Hero Items later.

4.

Best Crafted Items for Augmentation Evoker

Profession gear is extremely useful for Augmentation Evoker in Midnight Season 1. Augmentation currently prioritises Crit and Haste above all of its other stats so being able to select the perfect stats on crafted pieces is incredibly good. Additionally, you can use up to two embellishments in total between your crafted pieces which further augment your DPS!

4.1.

Best Crafted Items for Progression Augmentation Evoker

This section focuses on crafting items in the most optimal order to gain immediate, efficient and effective power gains. Some of the items you make here will not be a part of your final Best-in-Slot gear list in the endgame and will need to be replaced. We will be crafting them anyway though as they are an incredibly effective way to get DPS from your Sparks and Dawncrests.

If you would like to see the optimal End-Game items then check out the Tab for Final Optimal Crafted Slots.

Augmentation Crafted Gear Priority
  • Aln'hara Cane Icon Aln'hara Cane with Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt Icon Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt. Skip this if you get a Myth Staff. If you get a Myth 1H then it is still correct to make the crafted staff due to crest efficiency.
  • Highest upgrade Armour Slot (ideally not tier) with Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining.
  • Farstrider's Plated Bracers Icon Farstrider's Plated Bracers with Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining, removing the Embellishment from your weapon if you are still using a crafted weapon.
  • Any item you do not have on Myth track yet.
FAQWhy Craft a Weapon First if it is Not Best-in-Slot?
Weapons are the highest budget slot and scale extremely well with item level, so making this item provides the largest boost to your DPS early while being Crest efficient. You are effectively spending 80 Dawncrests to cover 2 slots worth of power, although you do need to spend 2 crafts worth of sparks to get there. This season we have a large number of sparks available to start the season with so spending these sparks has low opportunity cost.
FAQAny Alternatives to Farstrider's Plated Bracers Icon Farstrider's Plated Bracers with Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining for the Second Craft?
You could instead opt to craft a Masterwork Sin'dorei Band Icon Masterwork Sin'dorei Band or Masterwork Sin'dorei Amulet Icon Masterwork Sin'dorei Amulet with Prismatic Focusing Iris Icon Prismatic Focusing Iris. This could be a good option if these slots have lower item level!
FAQWhy Should Augmentation Use Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining?
We opt to use Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining as it is currently one of the highest budget embellishments when including the Primary Stat granted to an ally.
FAQAny Slots to Avoid Crafting For?
You should try to avoid crafting in Tier Set slots unless you already have the full Tier Set. Equipping the full Tier Set is more powerful than the crafted item so you would effectively be losing out on a Spark!
4.2.

Best Crafted Items for End-Game Augmentation Evoker

This section focuses on crafting items that will be permanently equipped to your character as they are Best-in-Slot. After that, you should use any of your remaining Sparks to get the highest DPS increase possible. This is not the most effective way to gear your character at the start of a season!

Check out the Progression tab if you want the better path for optimising efficient crests and sparks.

Augmentation Crafted Gear Priority
  • Farstrider's Plated Bracers Icon Farstrider's Plated Bracers with Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining
  • Adherent's Silken Shroud Icon Adherent's Silken Shroud with Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining
  • Any item you do not have on Myth track yet.
FAQWhy Craft Wrists and Cloak?
We are crafting the wrists Farstrider's Plated Bracers Icon Farstrider's Plated Bracers because there are no Haste Crit wrists available to us this season. Additionally, both Cloak and Wrists are low budget slots meaning we are not significantly affected by the lower item level of the crafted items while still getting the full benefit of the Embellishments.
FAQWhy Use Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining?
We opt to use Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining as it is currently one of the highest budget embellishments when including the Primary Stat granted to an ally.
FAQAny Slots to Avoid Crafting For?
You should try to avoid crafting in Tier Set slots unless you already have the full Tier Set. Equipping the full Tier Set is more powerful than the crafted item so you would effectively be losing out on a Spark!

4.3.

Best Embellishments for Augmentation Evoker

Embellished Items are more powerful than other items of the same item level. This means that, despite not being the highest item level, they are used as a part of our Best-in-Slot list.

For Augmentation Evoker there are only a few good Embellishments: Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining, Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt Icon Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt and Prismatic Focusing Iris Icon Prismatic Focusing Iris. You will want to use these on your crafted items while filling out the gaps in your gear.

All of these Embellishment effects stack. Having two of the same effect will double the effectiveness of the procs!

Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt Icon Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt grants a temporary secondary stat buff when your spells or abilities trigger it. The stat granted depends on the type of creature you are fighting:

  • Haste: Elemental, Aberration, Demon
  • Critical Strike: Beast, Mechanical
  • Mastery: Humanoid, Dragonkin
  • Versatility: Undead, Giant, Other

For Augmentation Evoker, this embellishment is powerful because it has a very high uptime. This effect is completely passive and does not require you to play around it.

Important Notes:

  • The stat gained is determined by the enemy creature type, meaning its value can vary depending on the dungeon or raid encounter making this embellishment better or worse.
  • Many raid bosses and dungeon enemies fall into the Humanoid or Demon categories, which often results in Mastery or Haste. Haste is an extremely good stat for Augmentation Evoker while Mastery is worse so this Embellishment can swing quite wildly in power depending on the boss.
  • We recommend removing this embellishment as soon as you can create your third Crafted Item due to the inconsistency in which stat you will receive.

Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining has a chance to summon a Mana Wyrm that grants Arcanoweave Insight Icon Arcanoweave Insight to you and a nearby ally. This effect increases the Primary Stat of both players for a short duration.

This is Augmentation Evoker's best embellishment providing close to 1% DPS increase. Augmentation Evoker scales far better with Primary Stat compared to Secondary Stats as it affects almost all of your damage output, even Ebon Might Icon Ebon Might!

Prismatic Focusing Iris Icon Prismatic Focusing Iris is a single target damage proc embellishment that can only be crafted on jewelry slots.

This can be added to one of the two items:

  • Masterwork Sin'dorei Band Icon Masterwork Sin'dorei Band
  • Masterwork Sin'dorei Amulet Icon Masterwork Sin'dorei Amulet

Important Notes:

  • The damage of this Embellishment scales with the total types of gems you have equipped (Which Main Stat). Despite this, the increase is so small so we do not suggest equipping gems for Versatility or Mastery. You will want to use at least one of each Haste and Crit gems though!
  • The effect performs best in single target encounters, as it only damages one enemy.
  • This Embellishment is worse than Arcanoweave Lining Icon Arcanoweave Lining above one target while approximately equivalent at one target.

Adding Sockets to Gear

You can add sockets to Helmets, Belts, and Bracers with the Radiant Jewelbinder Icon Radiant Jewelbinder consumable. You can get this item from the Vendor near the Great Vault for the tokens you receive when not choosing an item. You will need to hand in six to get a Radiant Jewelbinder Icon Radiant Jewelbinder.

Crest Usage

Early on in the season, your access to crests is restricted by the weekly cap. During this period you will want to be efficient with your use of Myth Dawncrest Icon Myth Dawncrest and Hero Dawncrest Icon Hero Dawncrest. You can use these currencies to upgrade gear to higher item levels. We suggest only upgrading items that you will be using for a long time or in order of the greatest upgrade.

You will ideally upgrade all of your items to their maximum upgrades possible but it is very important early on to be efficient with the use of crests to keep yourself from falling behind your peers and remaining competitive!

Evaluating Upgrades

Throughout this page and elsewhere in our guide, we regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots. This is because every character is unique, and each gear piece you have access to can change what is best right now for you.

While we do offer recommendations for gear and trinkets, these are not complete replacements for simming yourself. The only way to truly optimize your character to that degree is by making use of the tools available!
