Best Mythic+ Templar Radiant Glory Talent Build for Retribution Paladin

Templar is generally a slightly stronger choice than Herald of the Sun for Mythic+.

This build is focused on AoE damage, while still taking enough talents to keep single target output at a reasonable level. Radiant Glory Icon Radiant Glory is taken here for more frequent burst windows and stronger overall AoE damage. For more AoE damage, Tempest of the Lightbringer Icon Tempest of the Lightbringer can be taken over Jurisdiction Icon Jurisdiction.

Utility Kit and Abilities

Interrupts, Stuns, and Stops Other Utility
3.1.

Interrupts, Stuns, and Stops

  • Rebuke Icon Rebuke is your regular short cooldown interrupt. Use it first if you need to interrupt spellcasting.
  • Hammer of Justice Icon Hammer of Justice is a single-target stun with a very long 6-second duration. Use it often to stun-casting mobs that you cannot interrupt with Rebuke Icon Rebuke.
  • Blinding Light Icon Blinding Light can be used to disorient enemies within 10 yards. This can be used as an AoE interrupt for crowd-controllable casting enemies.
  • With a 5-second duration, Wake of Ashes Icon Wake of Ashes is a very potent AoE stun, but it only works against Demon and Undead enemies.
  • Turn Evil Icon Turn Evil fears an Undead, Aberration, or Demon target within 20 yards for up to 40 sec.
3.2.

Other Utility

  • Intercession Icon Intercession allows you to bring an ally back to life during combat.
  • Activate Devotion Aura Icon Devotion Aura to reduce all damage taken by your group by 3%.
  • Cleanse Toxins Icon Cleanse Toxins can remove all Poison and Disease effects from a group member.
  • Blessing of Protection Icon Blessing of Protection removes bleeds and other Physical damage effects. Additionally, it grants your target immunity to Physical damage and harmful effects for 10 seconds. It is often used on group members who pulled aggro from the tank via damage or healing.
  • Blessing of Sacrifice Icon Blessing of Sacrifice reduces damage taken by a party member by 30%, but you suffer 100% of damage prevented. It lasts 12 seconds, or until transferred damage would cause you to fall below 20% health. Communicate with your tank and healer to plan when to use this.
  • Blessing of Freedom Icon Blessing of Freedom removes and prevents movement-impairing effects for 8 seconds.
  • Lay on Hands Icon Lay on Hands heals a friendly target for an amount equal to your maximum Health.
  • Word of Glory Icon Word of Glory can also be used as a heal if necessary, but as it costs Holy Power, you will lose a significant amount of damage if you cast it too frequently.

Dealing with Affixes

This section has Retribution-specific tips for dealing with the various affixes of Mythic+.

Affix: Ascendant Affix: Voidbound Affix: Pulsar Affix: Devour
4.1.

Ascendant Affix Management for Retribution Paladin

Blinding Light Icon Blinding Light is our only AoE stop that will deal with the orbs. You can use single-target CC and interrupts like Hammer of Justice Icon Hammer of Justice and Rebuke Icon Rebuke if necessary too.

4.2.

Voidbound Affix Management for Retribution Paladin

Just focus down the Void Emissary when it spawns. You will not need to take any different talents for this.

4.3.

Pulsar Affix Management for Retribution Paladin

Soak orbs orbiting other players when they spawn. Try to keep a charge of Divine Steed Icon Divine Steed available for this.

4.4.

Devour Affix Management for Retribution Paladin

Cleanse Toxins Icon Cleanse Toxins and healing abilities like Word of Glory Icon Word of Glory and Lay on Hands Icon Lay on Hands can be used to remove this debuff. Blessing of Freedom Icon Blessing of Freedom also removes it, and can be used with Unbound Freedom Icon Unbound Freedom on another player to remove both of your debuffs at once.
