Upgrading gear in Midnight continues to use the Crest system which lets you increase the item level of gear along tracks that relate to where you obtained the item, which harder content dropping gear that can be upgraded to higher Item Levels. For Midnight Season 1 as a Preservation Evoker, you will want to try and prioritize getting the Shoulder, Chest, Gloves and Pants set pieces. However, getting the Helm to complete one of the bonuses is still better than any other gearing choice.

If you have limited time to play the game, we recommend to farm the following dungeons:

• Windrunner Spire: Drops a weapon ( Excavating Cudgel) and the two best dungeon trinkets ( Emberwing Feather and Heart of Wind)
• Algeth'ar Academy: Drops a weapon: Final Grade and one of the best trinkets: Emerald Coach's Whistle.
• Magister's Terrace: Drops a weapon, powerful ring, and other good pieces.

Below we will provide a rough tier list of available trinkets. This can help you to make quick decisions as to which trinkets are worth farming or what you want to roll need on. Any trinkets not listed will typically be weaker unless there is a significant item level difference.

Midnight's patch 12.0.5 introduces two systems inspired by systems from previous expansions.

• Nebulous Voidcore which can be used in dungeons or after killing a specific raid boss, and lets you gain a guaranteed piece of loot from that dungeon or raid boss. The item you get is random, but you can not get a duplicate item so using it again in a specific place will give you another chance on the remaining items.
• Ascendant Voidcore are used to increase the item level of Weapons and Trinkets which are Hero or Myth track if you have scaled them up to the highest item level possible. Alternatively these items can also be used on Crafted items at max quality.

The recommendation for using Nebulous Voidcore will change heavily based on the gear you currently have through killing a boss or the Great Vault. Additionally, if you don't expect to kill certain Mythic bosses, then this will also impact your recommendations. Our general priority will be as follows:

Voidcore (Bonus Roll) Priority

1. Myth Track Weapon (if you do not have one)
2. Mythic Gaze of the Alnseer
3. Mythic Locus-Walker's Ribbon
4. If you are unlikely to kill Mythic Crown of the Cosmosfor a while, you can opt for Mythic Vaelgor's Final Stare.
5. Remaining BiS List items - Aim to prioritize items that are heavily contested such as Jewelery.

Using your Ascendant Voidcores follows a similar priority list as using your Crests. You will want to start by upgrading your weapons followed by trinkets. Additionally, you can always consult with QELive to help you make decisions. Keep in mind that you will also want to prioritize Myth track items unless you do not expect to get a Myth track variant of said item (think trinkets specifically).

Professions are a great way to gear up with your optimal secondary stats, as adding special items to the crafting process lets you pick and choose the exact secondary stats you want.

As your ability to craft items will be time-gated in the initial stages of Midnight, we highly recommend getting a Mainhand weapon as soon as possible. No other item will provide you as large of a power increase. Of course if you get a Myth track weapon from your Great Vault, then you will want to instead craft something else. You may see some players choosing to wait until they open their vaults to make a decision as to what they should craft.

• Magister's Valediction with Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt
• World Tender's Barkclasp
• World Tender's Rootslippers
• Any item you do not have on Myth track yet.

Up to two of your crafted items can be Embellished. This is a similar concept as Unique-Equipped, as you can only wear two items that have the Embellished status. Some crafted items, many of which have powerful procs or beneficial effects by default, are considered Embellished. You can also add Embellishments from a variety of professions to any crafted item, adding the effect to this item either when creating it or at a later stage.

We tend to recommend crafting weapon slots early as they will provide the most initial power at the start of a new season, but they will not be your overall Best in Slot items. In general your best in slot will be:

• World Tender's Barkclasp
• World Tender's Rootslippers

You can add sockets to Helmets, Belts, and Bracers with the Radiant Jewelbinder consumable that you can get if you do not select any of the choices in your Great Vault. Not picking a choice will grant you tokens, six of which can be traded in for the Radiant Jewelbinder item. This allows you to add a socket to the above piece of gear if you acquired them in Season 1.

Early into the season, or if you have just started playing an alt, you will have limited access to upgrading-crests such as Myth Dawncrest. These can be used to upgrade gear to higher itemlevels. Since crests are limited each week and upgrading different items costs the same amount of crests regardless, you will want to prioritize your usage of them on items you plan on not replacing anytime soon, or that offer the biggest benefits.

The priority will change heavily depending on whether or not you are crafting a weapon. If you do not craft a weapon and instead get an early Myth track one then you should prioritize upgrading the weapon first. Otherwise you can follow the order below:

Trinkets ➜ Helmet/Chest/Legs ➜ Shoulders/Gloves

As previously mentioned, you will want to prioritize the items you know that you will not replace. If you have a BiS Myth track tier helm, that would take priority over a Hero track trinket that is not BiS. The above order assumes that everything is Myth track.

Throughout this page and elsewhere in our guide, we regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots. This is because every character is unique, and each gear piece you have access to can change what is best right now for you.

While we do offer recommendations for gear and trinkets, these are not complete replacements for simming yourself. The only way to truly optimize your character to that degree is by making use of the tools available!
