Marksmanship Hunter PvP Pets — 12.0.5
It is important to make sure you're always using the right pet for a given situation. This guide goes through what you should consider when choosing your pet as well as general recommendations.
Should I use a pet as Marksmanship?
As a Marksmanship Hunter, since the patch 11.1 rework, it is no longer worth
using pets in Arena. Your
Intimidation and
Roar of Sacrifice no
longer require a pet, and your
Aimed Shot applies Mortal Wounds with
the passive effect
Manhunter. Choosing to use a pet with
Unbreakable Bond will sacrifice a significant amount of damage as you
lose
Improved Spotter's Mark.
You instead choose between
Cunning and
Tenacious to mimic
the bonuses that previously came from your Pet Specialisation.
If you are going to use a pet, you should use one that has a Mortal Strike
ability. This is because although you have
Manhunter, it is possible
that the effect will occasionally fall off when you aren't able to consistently
use
Aimed Shot every 10 seconds.
The following Pet Families all have Mortal Strike:
- Hyena
- Raptor
- Rodent
- Carrion Bird
- Ravager
- Scorpid
- Wasp
- Direhorn
- Hydra
- Lizard
- Riverbeast
