Upgrading gear in Midnight continues to use the Crest system which lets you increase the item level of gear along tracks that relate to where you obtained the item, which harder content dropping gear that can be upgraded to higher Item Levels. This list is by no means a replacement for simming yourself. Depending on your previous Great Vault choices and the gear you have available, your BiS gear might look different in some spots than the below list.

In some non-Tier slots, a max ilvl Craft will technically be optimal since you can customize the secondary stats to your liking. Your mileage here may vary.

TipsWhich Are the Best Bosses/Items To Target for My Guardian Druid?

Generally speaking, the highest item level always wins, as our stats are all quite close in relative strength. The exception with this is trinkets or items with special effects, as some effects are far more powerful than the item level would suggest. For Raid - Chimaerus drops high item level loot with strong pieces like weapon and trinket on the loot table. Any boss that drops tier to allow you to enable your tier set bonus is massive value as well. Guardian is luckily a tank spec that enjoys all 4 stats, so gearing is extremely flexible and easy.

There are a great number of Trinkets available for Guardian, and we generally want to play a combination of a powerful on-use trinket like Algeth'ar Puzzle Box or Emberwing Feather, and a passive trinket providing potent secondary stat buffs or raw damage procs.

Aim to pick up one trinket from each of these categories as a pair:

Guardian Druid Trinkets

On-Use - Algeth'ar Puzzle Box or, alternatively, Emberwing Feather
Passive - Gaze of the Alnseer or, alternatively, The Eternal Egg

Midnight's patch 12.0.5 introduces two new systems:

• Nebulous Voidcore can be used to target items from specific bosses or dungeons, by letting you bonus roll a guaranteed piece of loot from a specific drop-location. Which item you will receive is random, but once an item has been acquired in this way, your next use of a Voidcore will grant one of the remaining items you haven't yet acquired.
• Ascendant Voidcore can be used to greatly increase the itemlevel of Hero or Myth track items if they have reached the highest possible itemlevel already, as well as Radiance-Crafted items at max quality. This will further boost their power. This only works on Weapons and Trinkets.

Which item you want to chase after depends heavily on the items you have already acquired through i.e. the Great Vault, or whether you expect to defeat certain bosses on Mythic difficulty regularly, as you do not want to waste your Voidcores on items you may be able to get on a higher difficulty track in a few weeks. The priority is as follows:

Voidcore (Bonus Roll) Priority

1. Myth Track Weapon
2. Mythic Gaze of the Alnseer OR Mythic Umbral Plume
3. Remaining BiS List items

Using your Ascendant Voidcores follows a similar priority list as using your Crests:

1. Your Weapon is the highest priority
2. Your on-use trinket
3. Your passive trinket

You will also want to prioritize Myth track items over Hero track ones, unless you do not expect to get a Myth track variant of said item. I.e. it is fine to upgrade a Hero track Umbral Plume or Gaze of the Alnseer if you do not expect to kill Mythic Belo'ren or Chimaerus anytime soon.

You may only have two embellishments, present on equipped crafted gear at a time.

Guardian generally prefers to craft low stat budget, flexible items that can easily be swapped to another embellishment at will. To find out more about professions and crafting in general, below is a link to the dedicated professions overview page.

Guardian Crafted Gear Priority

• Aln'hara Pikestaff with Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt
• Silvermoon Agent's Deflectors/ Silvermoon Agent's Sneakers with Arcanoweave Lining
• Any item you do not have on Myth track yet.

• The Aln'hara Pikestaff with the Darkmoon Sigil: Void embellishment is a great initial craft unless you have easy access to the first few bosses on mythic and can naturally loot one without hindering your groups progression.
• Silvermoon Agent's Deflectors and Silvermoon Agent's Sneakers have the least conflicting gear issues. Applying a simple proc embellishment like Arcanoweave Lining to these makes them quite competitive.

You will be able to upgrade your items via Crests. Once you have upgraded a slot to a certain item level, upgrading other items of that slot to that item level is free.

When you upgrade with Crests, you should think of it as upgrading slots and not items.

Below is the slot priority you should upgrade your items in. If you ever want to deviate from this, you should have a very good reason.

Throughout this page and elsewhere in our guide, we regularly refer to the importance of simming yourself on Raidbots. This is because every character is unique, and each gear piece you have access to can change what is best right now for you.

While we do offer recommendations for gear and trinkets, these are not complete replacements for simming yourself. The only way to truly optimize your character to that degree is by making use of the tools available!
